About the Career Analysis Tool

Most personality questionnaires put you in one of 16 boxes. But the original author of the theory (Carl Gustav Jung) said the personality types are only stereotypes. They act as points of reference that help you identify your unique personality. Most people are in-between two or more types.

The MMDI questionnaire is based on research into personality types and career enjoyment. Our algorithm recognises your unique profile and shows the balance you prefer on four dimensions of personality and how close your unique personality is to the 16 stereotypes. This is like using landmarks on a map to identify your unique location. The four dimensions involve preferences for:

• Extraversion (people/things) vs Introversion (ideas/info)
• Sensation (facts) vs iNtuition (possibilities)
• Thinking (logic) vs Feeling (values)
• Judgment (organised) vs Perception (flexible)

It is very rare for someone to want to use only one side of a personality dimension. For example, although many people prefer more introversion than extraversion, most introverts would find that being a lighthouse keeper is too isolated. They need more extraversion in their lifestyle balance than being a lighthouse keeper allows.
